The Blooms at RUYI Pavilion

I have seen a lot of Chinese dramas lately most I didn't finish, just halfway through. Most of the time the reason why I did not finish the drama its because I got tired of the story or the story is dragging and its not exciting anymore.

This time I tried watching a series starring Ju Jingyi. I heard she's a popular singer from a Chinese idol group called SNH48. She has a lot of dramas available in iQIYI (Chinese series and movies platform plus other Asian series is available here. But I subscribed mainly because of the Chinese series.)

This drama has 40 episodes in total with 3 bonus scenes. This story is about Fu Rong the second daughter of the Fu family, unexpectedly she becomes clairvoyant after a serious illness. She predicts she will marry Prince Su but that she will also suffer a tragic fate. There is also a great lesson to learn in this series about married life, family, ambition and morals.

The story is okay. The actors and actress are all good looking. Beautiful scenes. The supporting cast and their story is good. I will not elaborate more on this. I will not spoil the story or spill the story here. The next series that I am currently watching has a similar story to this one but this the lead female shows her ability to predict or foretell the future through her dreams and her special ability is already shown at the beginning of the story.

More About Latest Chinese Series That I Like

These past few days I have been busy watching another Chinese drama starring Zhao Lu Si. I first came to know her in the drama, “I Hear You.” I really liked that drama and I want to try another series, so I decided to watch it. Before that I have tried watching a few Chinese series which I did not finish. I am a subscriber of iQIYI one of the popular Chinese online video platform. Through iQIYI, I am updated with the latest and trending Chinese dramas. I usually watch Cdramas from this online . I am proud to say that from start until the end I have finished watching this drama. Watching Wuxia Romance Fantasy Chinese series is really enjoyable. The scenery and the costumes are all beautiful. That is why I am an admirer of Hanfu clothes.

I have seen Mr. Bad Guy, starring Shen Yue, the lead before of the Cdrama, “A Love So Beautiful”. This is a fun drama to watch since it’s a modern fantasy about a person who loves to write and the character in her novel comes to life. I just got impatient watching this that I fast forwarded it. But don’t imitate me because this drama is a good watch. I remember another series entitled, “Cute Bad Guy’, who has a similar plot. This time the female lead is cartoonist and her character an ultimate villain came to life. I still have not finished that drama.

Next, that I have seen is the “Song of the Moon” Cdrama, another wuxia, drama and fantasy genre. Beautiful and handsome female and male lead, starring Vin Zhang and Xu Lu. This is about reincarnation, about the God of sun and the God of moon. I also got impatient and fast-forwarded this series. One of the Chinese actresses that I admire is Bai Lu. Her beauty is similar to another Chinese actress Cecilia Liu (Liu Shi Shi) whose drama I have enjoyed watching before. Her leading man in this drama is Leo Lu. If you like their tandem they have another contemporary series, “Love Is Sweet”.

‘Till the End of the Moon is another good drama. This one is a long drama too! 40 episodes. Also, the impatient me, fast-forwarded this series again. All of the ending is satisfying, in my opinion. I have missed watching Chinese dramas and by watching all of these dramas. It felt like home.

Eternal Love Three Lives Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms (Drama and Movie Review)

I recently saw the drama, and also the movie last month. It took me almost 3 weeks to finish the drama series. I also re-watched the drama to fill in a few episodes that I skipped before. With regards to the movie, I have finished it but I really don't feel drawn to it unlike the drama series.

This movie and drama was based on Tang Qi's novel, "To The Sky Kingdom." Some people are saying that Tang Qi's work is not original, and they accuse her of plagiarism. Meaning, this work of hers was copied from an original story. They say that she took the idea from a gay novel's story entitled, "Love Debt." I really don't know much about this issue, and I am not Chinese so I don't know much about this issue. I just want to write how much I enjoyed the drama series. I do not intend to offend anyone by posting this review.

I like the drama series more because you learn about the characters in the story in an in-depth manner. The movie seems scrambly for me, and the flow of the story was not okay for me. I got bored with the movie even if Yang Yang of Love 020, and the pretty Crystal Liu was the lead actor and actress. The drama series from the actors, and actresses they all did well for me. I also like the special effects. Most of all, the storyline was great. (spoilers ahead) It is about the Princess of fox clan called Bai Qian, and how she disguised herself to be a student of Mo Yuan, the God of War, and the three lives she experienced.

I also like the supporting characters in the story like Bai Feng Jiu, and Dong Hua Dijun. It made me glued to the drama series even more. The villains Su Jin, and  Xuan Nu in the story made me fume with anger. Other characters that I like were the Ghost Princess, and the 16th disciple. Plus, cute little A-li.

There are also a lot of merchandise available online. I recently got the novel. It is not available in my country so I ordered online. There is a list of characters from the novel on the first page. I have read the first part of the book (prologue), and the style of the author is not from the present continous but more of the past. I guess the beginning of the story picks up on Chapter 1. I also own the plush toys in honor of the movie. I also have the Jade Purity fan, a mug, and a mini-journal. You could say I'm a certified Ten miles of Peach Blossoms fan.

A Love So Beautiful 之我们单纯的小美好

Last month, I finished another drama. I have found out about this drama from my officemate. Actually, she was supposed to watch this, but I end up getting hooked on it. This is a Chinese drama. According to Wikipedia, this was aired on Tencent video from November up to December 2017. If I'm not mistaken here in the Philippines, it was aired 2 months ago.

Most Chinese tv series that I have seen are period dramas. So this was something new for me. This drama is about Chen Xiaoxi, a student who has a crush on her classmate named Jiang Chen. This reminds me of my younger days when I really like a classmate of mine.

This drama is about young love, friendship, heartbreak, and true love. This drama has become one of my favorite Chinese drama. If you have not seen this drama I suggest you should watch this. I also love the soundtrack of this drama series. My favorite is 小美好 sung by Feng Jia Qi.

步步惊心 Bu Bu Jing Xin (aka Scarlet Heart): My Favorite Period TV Drama

I'm really impatient when it comes to watching TV series. If I have a dvd copy of that drama, I usually skip episodes, until I get to the ending. This is the only drama that I've finished watching from the first episode until the last. It was by chance that I came to know  Bu Bu Jing Xin, also known as Scarlet Heart drama. It stars real life couple Chinese actress Cecilia Liu Shi Shi, and Taiwanese actor Nicky Wu. What I like about this drama, is that I can relate to the character of the female protagonist. The female lead here wears glasses which I can also relate to since I also wear one because I'm nearsighted. The storyline is unique, it involves time travel. I think it would be cool if we can go back in time, and experience life the way it was before. Well, Einstein believes that time travel (Special Relativity)  is possible.

The female character travels back in time in the period of Qing Dynasty, and there her story revolves, and her relationship with the princes, as well as with the emperor himself. If you haven't seen this. I recommend that you do. The series has a nice soundtrack too. I like the songs, One Persistent Thought, and Seasons of Waiting, which are really match for the series. I have included the YouTube video of the song, One Persistent Thought (Yi Nian Zhi Zhou), a beautiful duet by Alan and Hu Ge.
